The Big Bend Critical Linkage spans more than 100 miles of pristine Gulf coastline and represents one of Florida’s last large, intact regions with rare coast-to-upland transitions. This linkage supports climate resilience, potential panther recovery, and local aquaculture and timber economies while providing natural storm protection and aquifer recharge. Keeping the Big Bend undeveloped is key to safeguarding Florida’s wild northern Nature Coast and its ecological integrity.
