The Suwannee River Critical Linkage
The Suwannee River Critical Linkage connects Osceola National Forest to Florida’s Panhandle while safeguarding one of the state’s most iconic river systems. Multiple springs, rich natural history, and cultural heritage define this North Florida landscape. Conservation within this linkage supports wildlife passage, aquifer recharge, clean water, recreation, and rural livelihoods. Because much of the corridor consists of small parcels and active agricultural lands, protecting it requires innovative partnerships with local landowners and community-driven conservation solutions.
